Food engineering refers to the process of researching, processing, packaging and storage of food raw materials and products. Food habits of people have changed drastically due to the change in the working style, stress, competition, income level and other lifestyle factors. Food engineering involves the designing and conceptualizing of machinery required to process food for preservation, understanding and implementation of food safety measures during the processing of food, designing of food packaging products appropriate for processed food as well as supervision of quality control measures.

Admission Procedure

The minimum qualification at undergraduate level is 10+2 in science background with minimum 60% in PCM/B. The procedure for admission of engineering in food technology is same as other specializations of engineering.
