Courses
Looking at the increased interest in health and beauty sector, many institutes have started offering certificate, diploma and graduation courses in health and beauty, the forerunners being established health and beauty salons who first ventured into the health and beauty education sector primarily because of their technical expertise and knowledge. Several such health and beauty salons now offer certificate and diploma courses in health and beauty.
Eligibility
There is no specific eligibility criteria for admission into a health and beauty course largely due to the fragmented market and the lack of standardized admission procedures. Thus, eligibility varies widely depending on the institute offering the course. However, as always, it is always advisable for candidates to complete their class 12 prior to seeking enrollment into a health and beauty course.
Prospects
Prospects for qualified health and beauty professionals are tremendous. They can find employment in spas, salons, fitness studios etc as spa directors, massage therapists, skin specialists, hair stylists etc. However, most prefer to start their own business after gaining work experience.
