Interested in MBA from University of Delhi

You may found numerous private institutes offering post graduate management courses but our government educational bodies like prestigious University Of Delhi is a tough competition to all private educational organizations. University Of Delhi in order to encourage and nurture the talent of students in 1954 first formed FMS (Faculty of Management Studies) and initiated a part time business administrative course of three years. Since then there no looking back for FMS and for the last 55 years it has raised to a level which is at par of its Indian and abroad counterparts.

Eligibility

FMS now conducts full time two year MBA courses with specializations. In order to apply for MBA in FMS the minimum qualification required is 10+2+3. FMS has different percentage requirement for MBA admission from different fields as for Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences fields its 50%, for Sciences area it’s 55%, for Mathematics or Statistics minimum 60%and for Medicine, Engineering or Technology field it accepts 60% or a CGPA of at least 6.00 in a scale of 10.00. Students with post graduation courses can also apply with 60% minimum percentage.

Selection Procedure

Every Year in the month of September or October FMS commences its admission procedure via publication of advertisement in all the leading national newspapers. Interested students can purchase application forms and submit them to Administrative Officer, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007. All the applications are then scrutinized and the eligible candidates are called for tests. All those students who clear the tests are entitled to personal interview. Students who clear personal interviews are given admission.

Note: only 166 students are given admission in one batch.

Courses

The two year management program in FMS is structured and dedicated to build future managers competent enough to cope up global business pressures. The first year of the course concentrates on fundamental knowledge of business management. In the second year students are offered to choose one the specializations offered by FMS like marketing, finance, systems, operations and human resources. Alike private universities and institutes FMS also provide students with guest lecturers by prominent industry names, on the job training, workshops etc.

Placements

FMS claims to have a placement percentage of 100%. It says that its main focus is to help its students get a job of their own choice. Companies who in past have been active participants in placements according to FMS records are ICICI Lombard, ING Vysya, India Bulls, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Max New York Life, Reckitt Benckiser, ITC Limited, Amway, TATA Administrative Services, Gillette, Hindustan Lever Limited, Dabur, Coca Cola (India) Limited, Whirlpool India, Hewlett-Packard and many more top industry corporates.
