Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET)

JMET (Joint Management Entrance Test) is the only test conducted for the two years management programs offered by IISs and IITs institutes. The institutes which jointly credit JMET score are IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee.All the management institutes although consider JMET score yet follow their own admission procedure for final selection of a student. Therefore, a student is required to apply individually to their preferred management institutes and according to their eligibility criterion.

The eligibility criterion for all institutes are as followed

IIT Bombay- 60% aggregate marks in graduation in engineering or masters’ degree in science.

IIT Delhi- The minimum eligibility is 10+2+minimum 4 years of education after 12th standard i.e. graduation in Engineering/ Architecture / B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering / Technology/ Pharmacy or master’s degree in physics, chemistry, statistics, Economics, agriculture etc.

IIT Kanpur allows students with 60% in any area of engineering. Students with equivalent degree through correspondence courses are not accepted.

IIT Roorkee accepts student with 60% minimum percentage in graduation in engineering from a valid university or institute.

JMET is a two hour exam with a total of 150 objective type questions with multiple choices. The exam is segregated in four main categories i.e. 1) Quantitative ability, 2) Logical reasoning, 3) Data interpretation ability, 4) General Awareness. It is to be remembered that the pattern of JMET keeps changing from time to time. JMET also have negative marking for all the wrong questions and a student is not just required to attain a particular percentage to pass JMET but also have to clear particularly all sections individually too.IITians have made our country proud since many years and hence are entitled to compete with higher difficulty level.
