NMAT is the entrance test which is carried out by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) for its institute for the course of post graduate management programs. NMIMS has been ranked amongst the top ten business schools in India and its entrance test NMAT is also accredited with "A" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Courses Offered
The MBA programs offered by NMIMS are Core Program, Pharmaceuticals Management, Capital Markets, Actuarial Science, Global Business, Retail Management, and Services Management.
Eligibility
NMIMS has allocated different eligibility criterion for all its MBA programs.
MBA Core Management:: The minimum eligibility to apply for core management program is 10+2 and graduation in any field with minimum 50% marks. Work experience is considered while admission.
MBA Pharmaceuticals Management: 10+2 with graduation or Post Graduates in Life sciences or Bio-medicine or Chemical Engineering or Pharmacy or Medicine with minimum 50% marks. Students with Post graduation in Sociology/ Psychology/ Anthropology can also apply, but students with degree in Biotechnology, animal health and related fields are not eligible to apply. NMIMS also demands two year work experience in their related fields.
MBA Capital Markets: To apply for Capital Markets management program 50% marks in any field of graduation is required but two years work experience with any organization recognized by SEBI, IRDA, PFRDA or with any bank is necessary.
MBA Actuarial Science: Students with graduation or post graduation degree in Statistics or Mathematics or Engineering or Economics with 50%minimum percentage can apply. Students with degree in other fields can apply provided they have 80% aggregate marks in mathematics at 10+2 level. At the time of admission work experience in the field of insurance or other related field will be considered by the panel.
MBA - Global Business: graduation in any field with 50% marks are eligible to apply but students with graduation and post graduation in the fields of Science or Commerce or Engineering will be given preference over others. Two years work experience will be preferred.
MBA - Retail Management: Graduation in any field with 50% minimum marks are eligible to apply. Work experience will be preferred.
MBA - Services Management: Graduation in any field with 50% minimum marks are eligible to apply. Work experience will be preferred.
Admission Procedure
The important information about the NMAT procedure is duly updated on the NMIMS. The NMAT test is a two hour test but the content is changed from time to time. It has 20 centers across country where students can give their NMAT exams. Students who clear the tests are then called for group discussion and interviews. Students who clear all levels of scrutiny are then given admission.
NMIMS have collaboration with a lot of foreign universities which help them attain skills to compete globally.
