Tata Institute of Social Sciences is a government funded organization which run courses which are socially are more relevant and humanitarian in nature. There are six schools and four centers which conduct courses. It is UGC recognized institute and was given 5-star rating by NAAC.
Courses Offered
There are a total of sixteen courses offered by TISS namely Social Work, Disability Studies and Action, Development Studies, Education (Elementary), Counseling, Women’s Studies, Human Resources Management and Labor Relations, Social Entrepreneurship, Globalization and Labor, Public Health, Health Policy, Economics and Finance, Public Health Social Epidemiology, Health Administration, Hospital Administration, Habitat Policy and Practice, Disaster Management and Media and Cultural Studies.
Eligibility
10+2 with graduation in any field is required to apply for courses.
Admission Procedure
The students are required to purchase the application form and information brochure and select up to three courses to apply for. Forms are also available online. Other information’s with important updates can be attained from www.tiss.edu. Students have to first clear the test. There are 20 centers all over the country to choose from including Ahmadabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Guwahati, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Kochi, Calcutta, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Ranchi and Srinagar. Then the students have to appear for group discussion and personal interview and only after clearing all strata’s can be finally given admission.
