B.A. Arabic is a degree that is suited for students who wish to take up a detailed study of the Arabic language, literature, Islamic culture & law and the Quran. It is offered by several universities in India including Jamia Milia University Delhi, University of Calicut, K.C. College Mumbai, New College Chennai etc.
Eligibility and Duration for a B.A. Arabic degree
The minimum eligibility requirement is passing marks in 12th standard examination, whether it is from CBSE, ICSE or State Board. Different colleges offering B.A. Arabic are likely to have their own cut-off marks depending on the number of students that apply to their courses every year. Typically colleges will also conduct an entrance exam and interview to judge the student’s aptitude and prior knowledge of the language. B.A. Arabic is generally a three year full-time course. If the student wishes to do a part-time B.A. then the duration can vary as per the program from three to five years.

B.A. Arabic is very useful for students who wish to work with the Islamic religious community or just to develop an appreciation of Arabic literature and poetry.
