BE - Automobile Engineering

Automobile engineering is also termed as automotive engineering or vehicle engineering. It is a division of engineering dealing in the study of designing, manufacturing and operation of automobiles.

The responsibility of an automobile engineer is to design, test and evolve vehicles and their parts from the first stage of conception of the design to the final stage i.e. production stage. The onus of automobile engineer does not sum up here but even after the launch of the vehicle, it required improvement and thus modifications are made considering customers’ feedback.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to B.E. Automobile Engineering

  • You must have passed 10+2 from an affiliated board or educational institution with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • You must have good academic record.

Entrance Exam for Automobile Engineering

You will also be required to appear for entrance examinations which are conducted at national and state level. These exams are IITJEE, AIEEE, and BITSAT etc.

Remuneration

Average pay package received by a fresh automobile engineer is often between Rs.10,000 to Rs.15,000. Pay package increases with increase in experience and skills. Graduates from eminent engineering institutions/colleges such as IITs, NITs and BITS get a very high pay package. After the three to four years in the industry you can get about Rs.40,000 per month for your services. As far as promotion chances are concerned there is no stoppage for the right and eligible candidate.
