The objective of the degree ‘Master of Theology” is to deepen preliminary knowledge of candidates in Religious Studies. In this way, they are prepared so that they can actively conduct independent research in the number of areas of Theology and Religious Studies.
Eligibility Criteria for Master of Theology
You should have bachelor’s degree in divinity with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a reputed theological college.
You must have fairly good command over written and spoken English.
If you wish to specialize in Old or New Testament, then it is essential that you have done interpretative course in either Hebrew or Greek.
Other Eligibility Criteria
A minimum of two years of elapse period is allowed between graduation and earlier theological study and the beginning of “Master of Theology”.
However, the aim behind this is that these two years should be spent in active participant in a particular Christian ministry.
Course Design and Duration
Master of Theology is a 2 year full time course. During the first year, foundation and core courses are offered while the inter-disciplinary course and thesis are done in the second year. Courses are taught in the form of lecturers or seminars. Seminars help candidates in doing their thesis with advanced work.
Career Prospects
Though this field is bit different from other general filed, but it too has jobs for candidates. After acquiring the degree you can do academic research on the subject. You can also take teaching line and can teach the subject at secondary and senior secondary level.
